There were plenty of reports and rumors about the Washington Commanders and whether they would trade down, get Jayden Daniels, or go in a different direction.
Still, for most of the pre-draft process, Daniels was considered to be the second-best prospect in the class, but the talent gap wasn’t as wide as some made it seem.
Daniels was the most entertaining quarterback in all of college football last season, and with a creative offensive coordinator like Kliff Kingsbury leading the way, they might be onto something special.
The Commanders are still projected to be the worst team in the NFC East Division next season.
However, Louis Riddick isn’t so sure about that, as he has high hopes for the LSU product.
Talking on ESPN, Riddick predicted that Daniels would take the town by storm, stating that he has a better-supporting cast than people give him credit for.

He also believes the players can rely on him and turn to him already, praising him for his leadership and the way he’s meshed with his teammates.
Riddick claimed that there has been plenty of positive reviews from the Commanders’ camp, stating that the ball has rarely touched the ground and that Daniels is placing passes perfectly.
C.J. Stroud also turned an ever-struggling franchise around in a single season.
So, who knows? Perhaps this year’s No. 2 pick will make history repeat itself and prove the doubters wrong right out of the gate, even if he has some tough divisional rivals on his schedule.
