With most NFL scouts locked in on Caleb Williams as the undisputed No. 1 QB of the upcoming Draft, the question is now, who should be No. 2?
Over the past couple of weeks, UNC star Drake Maye has been mentioned as the second-best quarterback prospect in this class.
Nonetheless, that’s not how Louis Riddick feels about him right now.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he made a case for Jayden Daniels being the clear choice and a fairly superior prospect to Maye.
“I don’t think there’s any question it’s Jayden Daniels,” Riddick said.

He stated that Daniels is tailor-made to become a dual-threat quarterback in the league.
He can hurt defenses as a scrambler or with designed runs, and he argued that he’s an elite passer at all levels of the field.
Riddick also claimed that his off-target completion percentage was superior to Maye’s, and while he argued that he did have Malik Nabers at LSU and Maye didn’t have much help at UNC, his mechanics were NFL mechanics more often than not.
Riddick also believes Daniels’ ceiling is significantly higher than Maye’s.
Truth be told, it seems like one couldn’t go wrong either way, and as usual, it could all depend on the system and the franchise any of these players land with.
Still, Maye looks more like a project at this point in his career, and Daniels might be ready to make an immediate impact.
It’ll be interesting to see whether most NFL scouts agree with Riddick.
