The NFL Combine is rapidly approaching.
For fans and analysts, this is the first major NFL-related event after the Super Bowl, and it typically provides a lot of excitement.
This is a time for prospects to show teams what they can do, hoping to impress them ahead of the NFL Draft.
However, even though this is a major event, many of the top quarterback prospects in this draft are electing not to throw at the Combine.
Instead, they are opting to throw at their respective Pro Days, only showcasing their arm one last time instead of two.
While this has become common practice, it is something that is often looked upon negatively, especially for more traditional NFL minds.
Louis Riddick recently commented on this phenomenon, saying quarterbacks have “nothing to lose by throwing and everything to gain.”

Riddick believes that it is not a bad thing for quarterbacks to throw twice, that it can only help their draft stock rather than hinder it.
As John McClain pointed out, CJ Stroud participated in all combine activities last year, and he was drafted with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Stroud won Offensive Rookie of the Year, and while he was taken No. 2, it was clear in his rookie year that he was the best quarterback in the class.
Throwing at the Combine could have been another added reason that the Houston Texans took him early in the draft, which should give more confidence to prospects that it is a good idea to throw at this event.
