The Carolina Panthers are looking to crawl out of the basement of the NFL.
They have not had a winning season since 2017 and are coming off of a 2-15 campaign.
Second-year quarterback Bryce Young, now under the leadership of first-year head coach Dave Canales, will be looking to have a much-improved sophomore season.
Legendary Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly recently appeared on “Up & Adams” to chat about Young’s growth as a leader.
“I think Bryce is very intelligent…I think moving forward, he’s going to be fine,” Kuechly said.
Can Bryce Young be effective as a quiet leader??

It is hard to find leaders in the locker room when you are 2-15 and your entire coaching staff gets relieved of its duties. But perhaps this is what can spur on Young and his teammates.
The quarterback is always going to be one of the leaders in the locker room. That’s just the way it goes, and Young could become more vocal as his play progresses over time.
Until then, it will be up to veterans such as former Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen, backup quarterback Andy Dalton, and defenders Shaq Thompson and Jadeveon Clowney to help this team find the fire within themselves.
Carolina has nothing to lose this season. They cannot be much worse record-wise, and the team improved this offseason in most areas on both sides of the ball.
Led by a growing player and leader in Young, the Panthers should not be dismissed. After all, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South with just nine wins last season.
If the Panthers are an improved team, they might be in the race for their division title by November and December.
