The New England Patriots have been through a lot since Tom Brady left.
They’ve only made it to the playoffs once in four years and have no postseason wins.
Notably, they thought they had found his successor when they took Mac Jones out of Alabama.
Then, Bill Belichick may have made some questionable decisions that hampered his development, to the point where he no longer looked like a starting-caliber quarterback.
Now, the Patriots are in a position to take a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, which obviously makes Jones the odd man out.
With that in mind, there have been countless rumors about a potential trade for the third-year pro.
However, Jones seems to want to run it back in Foxboro and prove that he’s the guy they need going forward, as shown by his latest activity on Twitter (via Dov Kleiman).

Patriots players raved about Jones’ competitiveness and work ethic when he first made it to the league, so this isn’t much of a surprise.
Whatever the case, Jones appears to want to stay in Foxboro.
With Belichick out of the picture, he could get an opportunity to play under a different offense.
Whether he’ll get another chance under first-year coach Jerod Mayo remains to be seen.
