After superstar quarterback Tom Brady left the New England Patriots to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the storied NFL franchise was left with a massive void under center, which could never be filled, but the team had to do their best.
That said, the team took a chance on rookie quarterback Mac Jones out of the University of Alabama, which initially seemed like a smart move by the Patriots, as he went on to be a Pro Bowler in his first season in New England.
However, things began to spin out of control after that, with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels taking the head coach job with the Las Vegas Raiders and Bill Belichick and company choosing not to replace him, which turned out to be a costly mistake for New England.
Ultimately, things never really worked out with Jones and the Patriots, which led them to trade him to the Jacksonville Jaguars recently.
During his introductory press conference with the Jaguars, Jones was asked about his time with the Patriots, according to Mark Daniels of Mass Live.
“A lot of great learning experiences,” Jones said. “Learned from a great coach, obviously, one of the greatest of all time and fortunate to kind of work with some great head coaches and learned a lot, played a lot of games, started a lot of games, and obviously things went the way they did and my goal was to kind of get the train back on the tracks. So, I think I can do that here.”

Clearly, Jones seems to be a bit relieved that he’s no longer with the Patriots and can start fresh with the Jaguars.
Unfortunately for Jones, there’s no telling when he’ll see the field playing behind Trevor Lawrence, as his days as a starter in the NFL may have come to an end for the time being.
