Heading into Week 7 of the 2023 NFL season, the New England Patriots were really struggling to get anything going, as they had lost five of their first six games of the season, with many believing some drastic changes could be on the way, including the potential firing of legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
Ironically enough, ahead of the divisional showdown with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, a report surfaced about the team agreeing to a contract extension with Belichick before the 2023 campaign had begun, which pretty much ended the rumors of him coaching for his job.
As if that wasn’t surprising enough, the Patriots actually played their best football of the season on Sunday, as Mac Jones and company were able to get the best of the division-rival Bills at home at Gillette Stadium.
After the game, Jones spoke to the media and dropped a pretty hilarious analogy for what the team needs to do in order to keep their momentum going after beating Buffalo in Week 7 via NBC Sports Boston.
“It’s just a crumb. Keep picking up those crumbs and eventually you’ll have a whole loaf of bread,” Jones said.

It has been a forgettable season, to say the least, for Jones up to this point, but he arguably outplayed superstar quarterback Josh Allen on Sunday with his best performance of the year.
Jones completed 25 of the 30 passes he threw on Sunday while racking up 271 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.
With this win, the Patriots improve to 2-5 on the season and will need to ride this momentum heading into another divisional showdown next week against the Miami Dolphins on the road at Hard Rock Stadium.
