The New England Patriots suffered their worst loss of the 2023 NFL season on Sunday, with the team having no answer for the New Orleans Saints, resulting in a 34-0 loss and a lot of questions swirling about the immediate future for quarterback Mac Jones.
As if the loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 wasn’t bad enough, with the offense only producing three points against Micah Parsons and company, New England stooped to a new low by failing to score against Dennis Allen’s squad, which is a mediocre team at best right now.
After the game, Jones spoke to the media about yet another loss on the season for the Patriots and why the team seems to get off to slow starts every single week via NBC Sports Boston’s Patriots Coverage.
“Really just not being ready to go I guess” Jones said.
What does Mac Jones believe has led to slow starts this season?

Even though longtime Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has continued to stick by Jones, it seems painfully obvious that a change needs to be made, even if it’s to show team owner Robert Kraft that he’s willing to shake things up when it seems clear that something is not working.
Belichick could be on the hot seat for the first time in New England, as Kraft is almost certainly growing increasingly frustrated with the play at the quarterback position since they’ve failed to have any success since the departure of superstar Tom Brady.
It’ll be interesting to see if Belichick starts getting some pressure from the front office if his future with the team is tied to Jones and whether he can turn things around this season.
