It didn’t take long before the Arizona Cardinals found themselves a new potential generational wide receiver.
Larry Fitzgerald has been out of the league for a while now, and they may have gotten his heir apparent in Marvin Harrison Jr.
Needless to say, that’s great news for Kyler Murray, who’s going to have a legitimate star to throw the football to for years to come.
That’s why the former No. 1 pick didn’t waste a second before reaching out to his new teammate.
Following the draft, Marvin Harrison Jr. revealed that Murray tweeted at him and that he hit him back privately, adding that they also got to chop it up for a while during his top-30 visit with the Cardinals (via NFL on CBS).

Jonathan Gannon’s team isn’t expected to be much of a contender right away, but adding Harrison Jr. gives them a foundational piece to build around.
Moreover, ironically, it also puts plenty of pressure on Murray.
He’s been under the scope for quite a while now, and the clock seems to be ticking on him.
Some claimed that the Cardinals could’ve considered taking a quarterback this time to move on from Murray, but they’re willing to give him another chance.
Besides his injury-proneness and late-season meltdowns, there have been worrisome reports about his work ethic, maturity, and leadership — or lack thereof.
Now, he has an elite talent to work with, and there will be no more room or time for excuses after all the time he’s been in the league and all the money the team gave him.
