Despite missing Justin Fields, the Chicago Bears had one of their best games of the 2023 NFL season as they were able to dominate the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
The Bears beat the Raiders 30-12, a shocking result considering that most expected them to struggle against Las Vegas who had won two consecutive games ahead of their matchup.
Like Chicago, Las Vegas was forced to trot out their backup quarterback but Tyson Bagent thoroughly outplayed Brian Hoyer in their respective starts.
Bagent was able to lead three touchdown drives for the Bears, though it was D’Onta Foreman who was the superstar of the afternoon as he was responsible for all three scores.
It was a cohesive effort from Chicago who looked like they were playing with much more energy than they normally do.
Head coach Matt Eberflus must be happy with the win, though his update on Fields put a slight damper on things via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
#Bears coach Matt Eberflus described QB Justin Fields as doubtful for this week, adding, “He’s just not there yet.” Another week of Tyson Bagent, who really impressed against the #Raiders.

Fields is dealing with an injured thumb that’s making it hard for him to grip the football, so Bagent is in line for his second career start in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Bagent, who went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, turned some heads in his first start for Chicago as he looked comfortable within the flow of the offense and didn’t force too many throws.
He ended the day completing 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 162 yards and one passing touchdown.
Bagent even showed some rushing ability by taking three carries for 24 yards.
