The New England Patriots have been mired in one of the worst stretches in franchise history as they’ve tried to fill the void left behind by Tom Brady.
Once Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Patriots never made it back to the postseason as they tried to make up for his loss with quarterbacks like Cam Newton, Mac Jones, and Bailey Zappe.
There’s no replacing a future Hall of Fame quarterback like Brady but the team is certainly hoping that Drake Maye can be a worthy successor after New England took him No. 3 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Maye was one of the best prospects in his class because of his prototypical size and strong arm, though he’s got some things to work on like his processing speed and footwork.
Still, Maye represents the best chance the Patriots have of digging themselves out of their rut and getting back to the postseason.
Maye’s veteran teammate Matthew Judon recently hosted a youth football camp where he was seen throwing the football and made a joke at the rookie’s expense via Carlos Talks Pats.
“[Drake Maye] ain’t got s**t on me,” Judon posted.
Matthew Judon hosted his youth football camp yesterday and he shared a message for #Patriots rookie QB Drake Maye on his Instagram:
“[Drake Maye] ain’t got s**t on me”
Also, it’s safe to say Judon’s fully recovered from his bicep injury!

Judon can be seen throwing footballs into the crowd and captioned it by calling out Maye’s arm strength.
The outside linebacker was obviously joking, though, as he is simply taking shots downfield without any clear targets.
Judon seems set to lead the defense again, though he’ll need Maye to step up and give them a chance to win games when the 2024 NFL season rolls around.
