The Los Angeles Rams tend to be one of the quieter teams in the league year in and year out.
Heading into this year, it is no different.
They are coming off of another playoff appearance under Sean McVay, and they have their star quarterback in Matthew Stafford back once again.
However, Stafford appears to be looking for some long-term security.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Stafford is looking for a new contract from the team.
“Stafford, to my understanding, wants more guaranteed money…wants his contract adjusted…he is going to show up to training camp,” Rapoport recently said on NFL Network’s The Insiders.

This certainly makes sense from Stafford’s perspective.
He has been playing through injuries recently and hasn’t played a full season since the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2021.
The former No. 1 pick still loves the game and seemingly wants to continue playing for a while, but he is looking for a little bit more money and security as he enters his late-30s.
With what he has brought to the franchise in recent years, the hope for Stafford is that the front office shares that same belief.
With him in the building, the team has won 10+ games in two of the last three seasons and has witnessed his connections build with his All-Pro wide receivers in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.
Last season was his seventh-career season where he had a total passer rating above 90.0.
He is still a good quarterback and wants to be paid like one further down the road.
