The 2023 campaign was quite tumultuous for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Despite being optimistic heading into the year, the Raiders didn’t live up to their standards and fired Josh McDaniels mid-season, promoting Antonio Pierce as their interim head coach.
Pierce has recently been named as their full-time head coach for 2024, a decision that was popular among Raiders players.
Maxx Crosby was one of the players who was a big advocate for Pierce and appears excited to head into the new season knowing he is the team’s coach.
That isn’t the only motivation for Crosby heading into the new season.
Crosby was recently snubbed for the Defensive Player of the Year award, an accolade many believed he would get.
After the award was announced, he discussed his feelings, and what that means for him moving forward.
“I mean, it’s exactly what I needed,” he said. “I know I’m going in the right direction. I know what I’m capable of. It’s just the beginning,” Crosby told TMZ Sports.

Crosby knows that he is capable of taking home this award.
He understands that he is one of the best defensive players in the league and that he brings a lot to the table for the Raiders.
Even if he doesn’t win the award again next season, he can hang his hat on the fact that he has been recognized as a top defender in the league.
The Raiders have a lot to figure out in the coming months, but if Pierce is who his players say he is, they could see a massive turnaround in 2024.
