The Las Vegas Raiders got the 2023 NFL season started with a win over the division-rival Denver Broncos in Week 1, and that win provided a little hope that the team might be a bit better than people are giving them credit for.
Unfortunately for the Raiders, the team came back down to Earth in Week 2, with Las Vegas getting blown out by the Buffalo Bills on the road.
Then, after hanging tight with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers for the next two weeks, the Raiders were 1-3 on the season, with it seeming like more of the same from the silver and black.
However, Las Vegas was able to bounce back in Week 5 as they got the best of the visiting Green Bay Packers at Allegiant Stadium, with the team’s defense playing well by giving Jordan Love problems all night long in Las Vegas.
After the game, Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby spoke to the media and talked about a sideline dust-up between him and veteran cornerback Marcus Peters via Sean Zittel of Vegas Sports Today.
“We wanna be the reason we win.”

As Crosby said, he was wrong for going at Peters, who was angry at him for getting an unnecessary penalty, and things were smoothed out, which likely is because they won the game.
Fortunately for the Raiders, the team’s schedule gets easier over the next month or so, with the team facing the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions (tough one), New York Giants, and New York Jets.
Las Vegas will have an opportunity to turn around their season while taking advantage of the struggles of these teams, which could make the AFC West division standings that much more interesting moving forward.
