Mel Kiper Jr. is one of the most iconic names in sports media today.
Kiper is viewed as one of the most significant NFL Draft experts in the business, having covered the event for ESPN for a very long time.
He brings a level of expertise and insight to this event that fans crave.
Kiper has helped break down tape and film throughout his tenure, trying to help fans understand a great NFL athlete, while also trying to predict a prospect’s landing spot due to the information he receives.
While Kiper might not be leaving ESPN in the near future, he did make an important announcement on Twitter about the future of his ESPN Radio segment, the “Dari and Mel Show.”
In a goodbye post on Twitter, Kiper announced the end of this show while also making sure to say, “Thank you to our loyal fans who have kept us going all these years.”
After 14 years of many interesting discussions/debates, Kiper’s Callers, fantastic guests, Mikey C’s antics, and so much fun, Dari and I are hanging up our headphones and saying goodbye to the Dari and Mel Show on ESPN radio. Thank you to our loyal fans who have kept us going all…

Kiper mentioned that the last broadcast of this show will be on May 4th, giving fans an opportunity to tune in one last time.
With the end of this show in mind, it will be interesting to see what Kiper does next.
He already is featured a lot on ESPN with his pre and post-draft analysis, and he has a podcast with Field Yates called “First Draft,” another opportunity for him to showcase his draft knowledge and insight.
Kiper has been in the draft game for a long time, and if he’s presented with another opportunity to talk about the draft and college prospects in the near future, he just might take it.
