The NFL has changed a lot over the past two decades, and some think that’s not a good thing.
The league has put an emphasis on protecting offensive players, and while player safety should be first and foremost on their priority list, that has made it difficult for defensive players to do their job.
That’s why Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons went off against the league in the latest edition of his podcast (via B/R Gridiron).
NFL has made it “almost impossible” to play defense in the NFL

Parsons ripped the league for suspending Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee without pay for the remainder of the season because he made a big hit on Michael Pittman Jr.
He added that football will be like flag football in 5-10 years, adding that those who cannot handle the physicality of the sport shouldn’t play it.
Truth be told, defensive players have been affected the most by these new rules.
And while Kazee has a history of questionable hits, he didn’t do anything illegal on that play.
Tom Brady recently blamed Gardner Minshew for the hit, stating that quarterbacks are responsible for not putting their wide receivers in harm’s way, and adding that they shouldn’t throw the football to places where their teammates could get hit.
That actually makes more sense than penalizing players for making the most of the only edge they have to get a stop.
It’s nice to see the league taking measures to protect the players, but they also need to be smarter and not put themselves in tough positions.
