Quarterbacks are usually the MVP winners, especially in today’s NFL.
It’s unusual to see another position player or a defensive player winning this award, regardless of their impact or how much better than the rest of the league they’ve been that season.
With that in mind, Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons took to Twitter to make a case for Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill to get the award this season.
Tyreke been the best player in the NFL this year!!! https://t.co/gBEtJhlbZs

Truth be told, it would be shocking if a player positing the kinds of numbers Hill has posted did not win an MVP award.
He’s been the best player on one of the best teams in the league, and he’s on pace to set a record for the most receiving yards in the history of this league.
Then again, when asked about his chances of winning the award, even Hill admitted that he’s not even the leading candidate on his team, obviously referring to QB Tua Tagovailoa.
Tua has had a solid season, and he has posted MVP-caliber numbers, but with his team’s record against winning teams, the chances of him wining the award become slimmer.
Other players like T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett have also posted MVP-caliber seasons, but once again, they’re not likely to get any sort of actual consideration just because they’re not quarterbacks.
Perhaps the league should come up with a QB-only award once and for all, so the rest of the players could finally level the playing field and compete for winning the MVP regardless of their position.
