With the 2024 NFL Draft being less than two months away, all eyes are on the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 1 overall pick, and arguably the best prospect in the draft in USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams.
At this point in time, it seems inevitable that the Bears will trade star quarterback Justin Fields in the coming weeks, paving the way for the team to take Williams with the top pick in the draft on April 25.
Although there’s a chance that teams come to the Bears with intriguing trade offers in the same way that the Carolina Panthers did last year, Williams seems destined to be headed to the Windy City to be the team’s new franchise quarterback.
Ahead of the draft, Williams isn’t doing any medical evaluations for teams at the NFL Combine, which has struck a chord with Dallas Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons, who hopes it is Williams calling the shots and not someone trying to use his platform, per his Twitter account.
I just hope these are Caleb’s decisions and not people around him that want to be different! Seems like they are trying to use his platform! https://t.co/M1SEsW8fOe

With Williams choosing not to go with an agent ahead of the draft, the USC product has taken an unorthodox approach to making his way to the NFL, which has come with both criticism and praise.
However, it remains to be seen whether this is the right choice for Williams, as he could get steered in the wrong direction or make some unusual, ill-advised choices that could come back to haunt him down the road.
In the meantime, the Bears appear to be ready to bring him in and start building around him.
