The Dallas Cowboys had one of their best regular seasons in recent history.
Beyond the results, the roster they had was dominant and full of talent on both sides of the field, and they had thrived against lesser teams more often than not.
They were also riding a 16-game winning streak at home, which is why it was so tough to believe they could meltdown and collapse the way they did against the Green Bay Packers.
Following the loss, team legend Michael Irvin took to Twitter to rip the players and the organization.
He talked about how much it meant to him when he was a player to know that other people had built the franchise before him and how he needed to contribute to that, which is something he doesn’t see happening with this team.
“My job while I was here was to match what they had done. They built it. They handed it to me. Put my d*** championship on the table,” Irvin said.
I am so hurt and I am so pissed!!!! @dallascowboys fans #cowboysnation you deserve better. I had to cut this down to make it fit!!!! pic.twitter.com/AexLsONmfJ

He called them out for playing well everywhere but in their own city when they needed it the most, and he asked for heads to roll.
Truth be told, this has become a trend in Arlington now.
Dak Prescott has proved that he’s not built for postseason football year after year.
Then again, the common factor in every single postseason failure has been Jerry Jones, and perhaps it’s time he considers delegating some responsibilities.
One cannot expect different results after doing the same thing over and over, and any other executive not being a team owner would’ve been fired years ago after so many postseason meltdowns.
Whether his position will allow him to realize that remains to be seen.
