Heading into the 2023 NFL Season, many eyes were on the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers.
Fans and analysts believed these two teams had the best chance to represent the conference in the Super Bowl, a prediction that came true when the 49ers made it to the big game.
While the 2024 season is still several months away, predictions are already starting to form about what will happen next year, including talks of who could win the Super Bowl.
Mike Greenberg isn’t focusing on the Eagles or 49ers this time, indicating that the Atlanta Falcons are a “legitimate Super Bowl contender.”

The Falcons, of course, recently signed Kirk Cousins in free agency, a move that has been met with a lot of praise from the NFL community.
Many saw the Falcons as a mostly complete team but missing a quarterback to round out their roster.
Now that they have Cousins, there’s no telling what their ceiling might be, especially regarding their young pass-catchers and skill-position players.
Greenberg believes that Cousins makes them a potential Super Bowl contender, especially if the defensive side of the ball can help him succeed.
His former team, the Minnesota Vikings, often struggled to find their footing on defense last year, which was a big reason for the team’s issues in the first several games of the season.
The Falcons have added several key defenders over the last few years, and if those players can complement Cousins well, this team could truly turn into a contender in the NFC.
