The New York Giants are in a tough spot with their quarterback right now.
Daniel Jones didn’t look very good last season, even when he was healthy.
Some reports state that people within the organization aren’t so sure about Jones’ status as a franchise quarterback, which is far from a surprise, as the team didn’t even pick up his fifth-year option before his career-best campaign.
Considering that, and given Brian Daboll’s past with the Buffalo Bills, NFL analysts Mike Greenberg and Matt Hasselbeck believe the Giants need to make a move in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, they made a case for the Giants trading up to No. 3 to get Drake Maye out of UNC.
“He reminds me, at least a little bit, of Josh Allen,” Greenberg said about Drake Maye.

They both agreed that Maye has shown shades of Josh Allen in the sense that they’re both big, strong, athletic, and mobile.
Daboll was instrumental in Allen’s development, so one can only expect similar results if he gets to do it all over again with a prospect with a similar game and build.
Hasselbeck also stated that Daboll could be on the hot seat, so a good and logical way to keep his job would be to have a young quarterback trending in the right direction.
Some analysts believe Maye isn’t quite ready to make an impact yet and might need some time on the sidelines learning from a veteran, and that also makes sense in New York.
It took him a while, but Allen eventually became one of the best in the game.
Perhaps, that’s going to be the case with Maye as well.
