For the second year in a row, the Dallas Cowboys have lost their featured running back.
Ezekiel Elliott’s debacle opened the door for Tony Pollard to take a leap forward and become a star, but he failed to live up to the hype.
On top of that, he left to join Brian Callahan with the Tennessee Titans, leaving the Cowboys without a legitimate workhorse running back.
With that in mind, HC Mike McCarthy revealed that revamping the RB room is currently a big priority for his team, promising to add more bodies either via the NFL Draft or in free agency (Via Mike Garafolo).

Coach McCarthy added that getting back Rico Dowdle was huge for them.
Truth be told, there aren’t many suitable options in free agency right now, so they will most likely have to address this big need in the NFL Draft.
This was a stacked free agent class at the running back position.
The likes of D’Andre Swift, Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, Gus Edwards, Saquon Barkley, Tony Pollard, and Derrick Henry were all free agents.
The Green Bay Packers released Aaron Jones, and the Cincinnati Bengals wound up trading Joe Mixon.
That means the Cowboys could’ve addressed that need if they wanted, which only raises more doubt about Jerry Jones’ promise to go ‘all-in’ in the offseason.
It’s hard to make a case for the Cowboys being a better team now than they were two months ago, and that’s not very encouraging for one of the biggest fanbases in sports.
