Dallas Cowboys fans have gone through a lot year after year with underachieving teams.
Jerry Jones made the rounds for the wrong reasons last night after announcing Mike McCarthy would return as head coach for the upcoming campaign.
McCarthy had one of the biggest postseason collapses in NFL history, arguably the worst in franchise history.
That’s why he addressed the media and sent the fans a message, stating that they’ve established a championship-winning program in Arlington (via NFL on CBS).
“We have established a championship program…we know how to win and we will get over that threshold,” McCarthy said.

McCarthy said that he knows how to win and that they train to win because he knows what it takes, vowing to get past that threshold of postseason wins as well.
The Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl in almost three decades.
This team may need a change of direction if they don’t get it done next season.
Jones’ GM job has never been in jeopardy because he writes his own checks, and that kind of comfort zone might be hurting the organization.
For now, everything will stay Status Quo in Arlington, so those who expected the Cowboys to be Super Bowl contenders in 2024, we just have to wait and see.
