After another forgettable season that resulted in disappointment and missing the NFL playoffs entirely, the New England Patriots are finally heading into a new era, with the team recently cleaning house by parting ways with longtime head coach Bill Belichick and trading quarterback Mac Jones.
Along with starting a new regime with Jerod Mayo at the helm, the storied franchise has the advantage of having the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, which allows them to take a quarterback and start to rebuild.
After recently signing veteran Jacoby Brissett, the team will likely head into the season with him as their starter under center while they develop whoever the team takes at No. 3 overall on April 25.
All signs are pointing to the Patriots taking a quarterback later this month when they’re on the clock, with ESPN’s Mina Kimes believing that they should draft Drake Maye out of the University of North Carolina, sit him the first year, and play Brissett to start the 2024 campaign, via NFL on ESPN.

The real question now is which quarterbacks will end up being available at No. 3, with there being a lot of speculation about who the Washington Commanders will take at quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick, considering that the Chicago Bears will almost certainly go with USC superstar Caleb Williams at No. 1.
However, the Patriots can’t go wrong with Maye nor Jayden Daniels as they both seem like solid options and potential franchise players in the near future, but only time will tell how things will unfold on draft day.
