The MLB playoffs are competitive and a ton of fun to watch each October.
We see all of the best teams battle it out and most of the league’s best players on the biggest stage.
But, one player who never gets a chance to shine in the postseason is Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout.
He has been in the league since 2011 and has played in three postseason games in his career.
One series is all we saw of Trout in the postseason and he got swept.
To put things into perspective we can compare Trout’s career to Jose Altuve.
According to Dan Clark, both Trout and Altuve made their debuts in 2011.
Altuve will surpass 100 postseason games in the ALCS this year, while Trout has only played in three.
Jose Altuve and Mike Trout both made their MLB debuts in 2011.
Assuming the Astros progress to the ALCS (likely), Jose Altuve will pass 100 postseason games played. Mike Trout has played 3.

It is astonishing to see one of the game’s great players never get the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage.
To make matters worse, he signed a long-term extension with the Angels.
So unless he is traded, Trout will most likely be in LA for the rest of his career.
The Angels have two of the best players in the league, Trout and Shohei Ohtani.
Yet, they cannot even stay in postseason contention late into the regular season.
It will be interesting to see if the Angels ever decide to trade Trout.
They could get a king’s ransom in return for him and start their rebuild.
All MLB fans want to see Trout in the postseason again.
But, for that to happen he might need to be wearing a different uniform.
