The MLB regular season is right around the corner, as the first two games kick off in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday and Thursday.
But, the official MLB Opening Day is not until March 28.
As teams get set to name their Opening Day roster, there are still a few impact free-agents available.
For some reason, MLB free agency takes a long time to play out.
Last season, the NL Cy Young winner was Blake Snell.
Up until Monday, he was not signed with a team.
Finally, Snell has found a home and it will be with the San Francisco Giants.
One manager who had an interesting comment about the Snell signing is Arizona manager Torey Lovullo.
According to Bob Nightengale, Lovullo said: “I wish the best players would quit coming to the NL West.”

Now, the Giants’ patience pays off, and they land two-time Cy Young award winner Blake Snell— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) March 19, 2024
It is safe to say the NL West is loaded with star power.
We saw the Los Angeles Dodgers land Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinubo Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow this offseason.
The Giants signed Matt Chapman and Snell, while the San Diego Padres added starting pitcher Dylan Cease into the fold.
The Diamondbacks will have their work cut out for them as they chase another NL pennant.
Still, the Dodgers are far and away the favorites to win the division.
Their talent is off the charts and anything short of a 100-win season would be a disappointment.
Our first look at two of these teams will be in the aforementioned Seoul Series.
The Dodgers and Padres will start the season and show the firepower that is in the division.
