There has been a lot of talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers this season, mostly for the wrong reasons.
The team wasn’t at its best, struggling on offense more often than not.
George Pickens made the news over and over for his never-ending antics and tantrums, they fired OC Matt Canada, and there were some reports about Kenny Pickett not wanting to back up Mason Rudolph.
On top of that, team legend Ben Roethlisberger called out the offense, the lack of leadership, and even the coaching.
The fact that HC Mike Tomlin stormed out of his press conference when asked about his future didn’t do a lot to appease the rumors.
That’s why RB Najee Harris expressed his desire to play for Tomlin next season, adding that the team needs to be more mature and do a better job of taking care of their internal issues without venting them to outsiders (via ProFootballTalk):
“If we want to elevate and get where we are and achieve those goals that we want, we have to change some in-house stuff,” Harris said.

Tomlin is one of the best coaches in the game, and he’d be at the top of most team’s shortlists if he were to be made available.
The season was disappointing, but it’s not like they had a lot to work with, either, and the players need to be held accountable for the way they dealt with all the outside noise.
Whether Tomlin will be back or take a year off remains to be seen.
But no one will be able to turn things around until the players also take a deep look in the mirror and start holding themselves accountable as well.
