The Washington Commanders have had a busy offseason putting their large amount of cap space to good use, signing impact players on both sides of the ball to prepare for the likely selection of a new rookie quarterback at No. 2 overall and create the best possible situation for him to step into.
One new addition is already off to a great start and is reportedly making a good impression on his new teammates.
Around The NFL posted that new Washington linebacker Frankie Luvu is already being praised by his new teammates for his energy, with one teammate saying, “Frankie’s a dog.”

Luvu left the Carolina Panthers in free agency for a three-year, $36 million with the Commanders.
He was referred to as a dog by safety Jeremy Chinn, who is familiar with Luvu’s game since he played with him in Carolina as well.
Chinn added, “they’re definitely gonna get somebody who’s high energy, somebody who’s gonna put his all on the line every single Sunday, every single week.”
Luvu has ascended to become one of the best linebackers in the NFL in recent years and put up a career-high 125 tackles in 2023 to go along with 5.5 sacks.
Luvu will be joined on defense by a bunch of other new additions, including Dorance Armstrong from the Dallas Cowboys, linebacker Bobby Wagner, Chinn, Clelin Ferrell, and Dante Fowler Jr.
This team needed a lot more dogs defensively last season, as it gave up a ghastly 30.5 points per game which was the worst in the NFL.
