It’s dinner season, and J.J. McCarthy has a lot on his plate.
The national champion quarterback is flying up mock drafts as so many teams are desperate to find a QB in this loaded class, and one of the benefits of that is he’ll be having a lot of steaks that he doesn’t have to pay for.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, McCarthy had dinner with the New York Giants’ front office last week and took a tour of the facility, and now this Thursday he will reportedly also be having dinner with the Washington Commanders, who are flying out to Ann Arbor to take him out before his Pro Day.

The Giants currently have the sixth pick and it’s no secret that they could be in the market for a new QB following another lackluster year from Daniel Jones.
Washington has been projected to be choosing between LSU Heisman trophy winner Jayden Daniels and North Carolina’s Drake Maye at the No. 2 pick, but any team in this situation has to do their due diligence and explore all options.
McCarthy might see his stock rise all the way to the top 5, as the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 5 have a lot of leverage now if they’d like to trade down because if the Giants are in the hunt for a quarterback at No. 6, the Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings sit just a few picks below them and both squads clearly need a franchise QB.
If either of those teams want McCarthy, they might have to leapfrog the Giants and move up to fifth.
