Despite some of the criticisms that seem to pop up in the news headlines from time to time, the NFL continues to be one of the most popular sports leagues in the entire world.
With its massive popularity, the NFL continues to rake in piles of money year after year after year.
It’s no different in 2024, as the league recently revealed that the salary cap for each of its 32 teams is increasing by more than $30 million (via Ari Meirov on Twitter).
BREAKING: The NFL informed teams today that the 2024 salary cap will be $255.4M, per @jjones9.

Many of the sites that cover the league’s salary cap, including OverTheCap.com, were not expecting such a massive increase in the league’s salary cap this year.
With this news, it will be interesting to see how teams decide to use the new funds once free agency begins in the second week of March.
Will teams feel more willing to target some of the big-name free agents that they previously felt were going to be out of their price range?
Or will some teams even be more willing to make trades for players with larger salaries for the 2024 season?
The significant increase in salary cap likely also means that players are going to be asking for more money this offseason than ever before.
The NFL is viewed as the king of American sports leagues, and they proved it once again on Friday with their salary cap news.
