Over the last couple of seasons, no play in the NFL has been more controversial than the “tush push,” which the Philadelphia Eagles have worked to perfection and which no other team in the league can seem to get right or use efficiently.
As a result of the controversial play being such a lethal weapon for the Eagles, other teams around the league have been getting increasingly frustrated that the tactic is still legal, as some players, coaches and teams think it should be banned.
With so much talk about the play that the Eagles use so often, it was going to be something that the league would have to address during the offseason and make a ruling on whether it can still be used moving forward.
Although some believed that the “tush push” would ultimately be banned after review by the NFL, the opposite has happened, with Troy Vincent announcing that it will not be banned or changed in any way moving forward via Andrew Siciliano of NFL Network.
NFL EVP Troy Vincent says the “Tush Push/Brotherly Shove” is not getting banned or limited this season.
“After lengthy discussions [among multiple committees], ….leave it alone. The Eagles do it well.”

The Eagles will be ecstatic about this development, while the rest of the league will likely be frustrated, but it just means that every franchise other than the one in Philadelphia needs to adapt and learn how to use the “tush push” as efficiently as possible.
Interestingly enough, the Eagles might not be able to use this tactic as well as they have done in the past, with star center Jason Kelce recently retiring and being a significant part of why the “tush push” works so well for Philadelphia.
