With the consensus around the NFL being that the Chicago Bears will select USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the real intrigue starts at the No. 2 overall pick with the Washington Commanders on the clock.
The Commanders, much like a lot of the teams atop the upcoming draft, are a team in need of a quarterback to build around moving forward and will have no shortage of options at No. 2, with Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy more than likely being the players that Washington will consider.
Although the Commanders could take Daniels or McCarthy, Maye seems to be the quarterback that will most likely be headed to the nation’s capital, which makes things interesting for the New England Patriots at No. 3 overall.
The Patriots also need a quarterback with the team recently trading Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the team signing veteran Jacoby Brissett to shoulder the load under center for the time being.
However, New England’s pick is a desirable trade option for other teams that would like to trade up for a quarterback, with Dan Graziano of ESPN believing the Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders are desperate to move up to that spot to take Daniels out of LSU via Minnesota Sports Fan.

The Vikings did their due diligence in NFL free agency to replace Kirk Cousins, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons, by bringing in veteran Sam Darnold.
Although Darnold will be given potentially his last shot at starting, the team clearly wants to go younger at quarterback, and Daniels fits the bill.
The Raiders are in the same situation with the team bringing in Gardner Minshew and desiring to land Daniels in the draft if possible.
