The Houston Texans are still in control of their destiny if they want to make the playoffs.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts failed to make the most of C.J. Stroud’s absence, and winning out could get them closer to the postseason.
Fortunately for Houston, AFC South insider Ben Arthur reported on the NFL on FOX Podcast that the prized rookie is on the cusp of making his return to the field.

Apparently, Stroud is in phase four of the concussion protocol, meaning it’s just a matter of time before he gets cleared for contact.
Stroud was — and still is — the clear-cut favorite to run away with Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, but he’s been out for the past couple of games after suffering a concussion vs. the New York Jets.
The Ohio State product will have to enter playoff mode right away to keep his franchise’s hope alive.
They’ll have a tough matchup ahead of them with the Tennessee Titans, a hard-fighting team that won’t cave in without a fight, not to mention a division rival.
The Texans managed to get one big win out of the mud against them just a couple of weeks ago, with veteran Case Keenum leading them to a three-point overtime win.
Things should be a little easier with their No. 1 guy back on the field.
But even if they manage to win that game, as expected, they’ll have another huge challenge in the season finale: another divisional matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, who could still be in playoff contention as well.
