During his NFL career, former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson was never afraid to speak his mind, no matter how outrageous it might have sounded to the people around him.
But that honesty and realism are part of what made Johnson so popular during his time in the league as an All-Pro wide receiver.
Johnson hasn’t played a snap in the NFL since 2011, but he’s still making outlandish statements that raise the eyebrows of those who hear them.
Most recently, Johnson claimed that he beat NBA superstar LeBron James in a game of 1-on-1 at some point when James was a member of the Miami Heat from 2010 to 2014.
“When [LeBron] was with the Heat, we played 1-on-1 at the YMCA. We played to 21. I beat him, I beat him 21-17.”
Ochocinco: “When LeBron [James] was with the Heat, we played 1v1 at the YMCA… I beat him 21-17.”
Shannon Sharpe: “I can tell by the way you look that you can’t shoot no hoops!”
Ocho: “I caught him off the dribble, and he fell!”

This claim from Johnson was made on a podcast hosted by fellow former NFL player Shannon Sharpe, and Sharpe wasn’t buying the story for a single second.
Johnson also stated that he could play in the NBA right now at the age of 45 because age isn’t nothing but a number, to which Sharpe hilariously responded to by saying, “And your number is old.”
While anything is possible, it’s difficult to imagine a 6-foot-1, 188-pound Johnson was able to get the best of a 6-foot-9, 250-pound James in a game of 1-on-1.
Johnson claims that his quickness caught James off guard, and that’s what allowed him to beat the future Basketball Hall of Famer in 1-on-1.
But here’s the thing: James is quick too, and back when he was with the Heat, he was arguably in the prime of his career.
This claim from Johnson might just be too outrageous to believe, even for him.
