The 2024 NFL Draft is rapidly approaching.
This has been the most significant talking point within NFL media for several weeks, as this year’s class seems to be extra special.
If analysts are correct, the 2024 draft could feature several marquee wide receivers who could make an immediate impact on the team that drafts them.
Take Rome Odunze, for instance, who gained a lot of traction during the 2023 NCAA season.
Jordan Schultz recently recanted a conversation with a scout, who talked about the kind of player Odzune is, comparing him to one of the best receivers in the league.
Schultz reported that the scout said, “He’s Davante Adams to me, but bigger. Watch his releases at the line of scrimmage. There’s some of the same basketball footwork as Adams. Rome’s a classic X, he’s a day one star.”
Interesting Rome Odunze comp from a longtime NFL scout I spoke with: “He’s Davante Adams to me, but bigger. Watch his releases at the line of scrimmage. There’s some of the same basketball footwork as Adams. Rome’s a classic X, he’s a day one star.” https://t.co/4jwfemfAAB

This is high praise for a player who has never stepped on an NFL field.
If this former scout feels this strongly about Odunze, it could say a lot about his NFL ceiling moving forward.
Adams is not only perceived as one of the best receivers in the league today, but some say his route running is among the best in NFL history.
Odunze certainly has a lot of work to do to prove himself in the league, but with this in mind, anything is possible.
He is slated to have a pre-draft meeting with the New York Jets, conveniently quarterbacked by Adams’ long-time running mate, Aaron Rodgers.
Will the Jets take a swing on Odunze with the No. 9 pick in the draft, pairing him with Rodgers and Garrett Wilson?
