After a successful stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start his NFL career and a forgettable stint with the New Orleans Saints, former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston is starting fresh with the Cleveland Browns for the 2024 NFL season as Deshaun Watson’s backup under center.
Winston’s days as a starter in the league might officially be over after his time with the Saints, but he still seems to be in great spirits as he embarks on a new journey in the NFL as a backup, which sometimes isn’t an easy transition, especially for a player who was taken as high as he was in the draft.
With Watson having a history of injuries and not exactly making a good impression in Cleveland thus far, Winston could get the call at some point next season.
In the meantime, Winston’s personality off the field continues to shine as he admits he’s a fan of watching cartoons like “Looney Tunes,” which he admittedly gets “silly” watching, via NFL on CBS.

Winston will need to keep that kind of energy going as he begins his stint with the Browns, as he could be stuck on the bench for quite some time if Watson finally lives up to expectations in terms of how much he gets on the field during the 2024 NFL season.
Only time will tell how things pan out in Cleveland, but it seems like a smart move by the veteran quarterback, with the Browns potentially having something special going right now.
