Coming off a strong four-game point streak, the Seattle Kraken are gearing up to take on the Minnesota Wild at Saint Paul, Minnesota on Wednesday. Some notable contributions to the Kraken’s recent success include Shane Wright’s double score in Chicago, Adam Larsson’s impressive goal and two assists, and Matty Beniers’ noteworthy contributions of a goal and an assist. Not to be forgotten, Jordan Eberle and Jared McCann also made their marks on the scoreboard. Andre Burakovsky gave a helping hand with two assists and Joey Daccord showcased his defensive skills with 27 saves.
Reflecting on the Kraken’s performance, Coach Dan Bylsma remarked, “Initially, our performance was somewhat sluggish, especially in the first few minutes. However, we bounced back even when Chicago put the pressure on. We managed to weather the storm.” He further emphasized the importance of teamwork stating, “Our best performances are when all four lines work together, sharing both responsibility and effort. Our recent success is evidence of this collaborative spirit.”
On the other side, Wild Coach John Hynes expressed satisfaction with his team’s resilience, “Despite recent struggles, we managed to pull ourselves up and secure a victory. We displayed our true form, exhibiting both energy and competitiveness. Our attention to detail and strong performance in special teams played crucial roles in our success.”
During a tense moment in the game, with Minnesota trailing 1-0 and only eight minutes left to play in the first period, Jon Merrill, a defenseman for the Wild, made an excellent stick save, denying Alex Laferriere’s diving shot. Merrill admitted, “We were all scrambling a bit. We entered the game determined to secure a win, ready to play with desperation and support each other. I was just trying to support Gustavsson and luckily, the shot hit my stick.”
