The Dallas Cowboys have a solid 5-3 record this season, but one knock against them is that they haven’t beaten any quality teams, at least not yet.
They have defeated the New York Giants, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Los Angeles Rams, and other than the Chargers, none of those teams will likely make the playoffs.
Dallas started their season by beating the Giants, 40-0, in North Jersey, and they will host the Giants this Sunday.
One would think there should be no real reason to be concerned about Dallas in this contest, but Nick Wright sounded an alarm on FS1’s “First Things First,” saying that if the Cowboys lose, they cannot be considered a “serious team.”
“If the Cowboys lose at home against the Giants, I will be off them entirely. This is, in my opinion, as close to an unlosable game as exists in the NFL. … If they lose, they are not a serious team.”

One thing the Cowboys have had going for them this year is the fact that they haven’t just beaten bad teams — they have made quick work of them.
However, there has been one glaring exception — the Arizona Cardinals, who are currently tied for the worst record in the NFL and managed to defeat the Cowboys, 28-16, in Week 3.
The question is whether that game was a reg flag moving forward or simply a fluke for Dallas.
Dallas won’t play another playoff-caliber team until November 30 when they face the Seattle Seahawks, but it will start a difficult stretch for them that will see them play the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Detroit Lions over the following four weeks.
They need to load up on wins against every lesser team they play in order to build confidence and sharpen their beaks for that brutal stretch in late November and December.
