Over the last few years, the Buffalo Bills have been consistently considered Super Bowl contenders, but they have failed to meet expectations.
Ever since quarterback Josh Allen emerged as an elite player, they have reached the AFC Championship Game only once, despite possessing other stars such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
But this season has been a huge letdown, as Buffalo holds a dismal 7-6 record and is currently in 11th place in the AFC, which means they’re in danger of missing the playoffs.
They will host the elite Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, which means they will have an opportunity to get a statement win and bolster their postseason chances.
Even if they lose, as Nick Wright pointed out on FS1’s “First Things First,” they can still have a shot at making the playoffs and even finishing first in the AFC East thanks to an easy schedule the rest of the way.
But Wright also said the Bills get far too much credit considering their lack of success come playoff time.
“I think Dallas can win convincingly. But on Monday, ‘Can Buffalo still win the AFC East?’ is going to be a topic. The Bills get the respect & margin of error of a multi-time champion, despite having won nothing.”

Allen is still considered one of the game’s better signal-callers, but he leads the NFL with 14 interceptions.
The Bills have lost all six of their games this year by six points or fewer, which has made their struggles all the more frustrating.
After this weekend, they will play the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots, two teams that are floundering and have nothing to play for.
Buffalo will then visit the Miami Dolphins to wrap up the regular season, and there is a chance that game could decide first place in the division.
Allen and crew trounced the Dolphins, 48-20, earlier this season in Week 4.
