The Miami Dolphins had the best offense in the league at some point.
They’re explosive, and it seemed like they could put up 40 points on any given day.
A lot of that had to do with Tua Tagovailoa’s improvement.
He showed that he was capable of slinging the football 40+ yards down the field and that he wasn’t just checking down Tyreek Hill and hoping he’d take it the distance.
Nonetheless, Tua’s flaws were evident again at the end of the season.
The team failed to get the job done against winning teams other than the Dallas Cowboys, and his woes in the blistering cold were on display again.
That’s why FOX analyst Nick Wright claimed that HC Mike McDaniel did what he could with an ‘undersized and limited QB’ (via What’s Wright?)

Wright thrashed Tua for the way everybody talked about the weather being a major factor ahead of the game, which isn’t something people would’ve cared about if we were talking about Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes.
That makes sense, although comparing Miami with Kansas City or Buffalo makes little to no sense, weather-wise, but his point is still valid.
Then again, the coaching staff also should be held accountable, and perhaps to an even bigger degree, when the team constantly underperforms against contenders.
It’s not all on the QB.
