In the aftermath of the embarrassing first-round playoff loss to a young and inexperienced Green Bay Packers team during Wild Card Weekend, everyone has chimed in on what the Dallas Cowboys should do moving forward.
The consensus after the loss to the Packers was that longtime team owner Jerry Jones would part ways with head coach Mike McCarthy and go after some of the big-name head coaches on the open market, like Mike Vrabel, Jim Harbaugh, or Bill Belichick.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys announced that they will be bringing McCarthy back for the 2024 NFL season, which was a shocking announcement, to say the least.
With the Cowboys now committed to McCarthy as the team’s head coach for next season, the attention turns to star quarterback Dak Prescott and whether he’s the right leader under center for America’s Team moving forward, with Nick Wright of FOX Sports convinced the team should trade the veteran quarterback for draft picks via First Things First.
“I don’t believe after this postseason performance, once again, that Dak Prescott is enough to carry a team,” Wright said.

With Prescott sporting a postseason record of 2-5 with the Cowboys, he hasn’t exactly shown that he can get the job done during the playoffs, which should be concerning, especially if the team intends to sign him to another massive contract extension.
The one significant problem the Cowboys will face if the team wants to trade Prescott is the fact he’s got a no-trade clause and can control his own fate moving forward, which would make it difficult for Dallas if they want to get their hands on a high draft pick in order to bring in one of the talented young quarterbacks from the college game.
