OTA season is the time to dissect every little piece of news that comes out of camp as fans everywhere are simply thrilled to see even a glimpse of football for the first time in months.
The Kansas City Chiefs are in the midst of OTAs at the moment, though one notable wide receiver was absent from the practice field today.
The Chiefs made Xavier Worthy their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but a video taken during Wednesday’s media look showed that Worthy was not participating in on-field activities, as the video showed Worthy on the field with his teammates, but without a helmet and standing off to the side, per Aaron Ladd.

Reports say that Worthy suffered a minor tweak to his hamstring this week during OTAs, which is why he wasn’t participating on Wednesday.
OTAs are not the time of year to try to push through an injury, and there’s no reason for Worthy to play through this when he has so much time before the season starts to get ready.
Being around the team is the most important thing at the moment, and Worthy will immediately be looked at as a vital part of this offense.
KC has been struggling to replace Tyreek Hill ever since trading him to the Miami Dolphins two years ago, and even though the Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls without him, the offense hasn’t had that type of explosive receiver since.
Worthy ran a 4.21 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, and the Chiefs need him at full strength this year to add some more explosiveness to this offense.
