The San Francisco 49ers were already one of the best offensive teams in the National Football League, but adding Christian McCaffrey to that mix helped them get way over the top.
McCaffrey’s presence has allowed coach Kyle Shanahan to deploy so many different combinations and be as creative as possible, allowing him to line him up pretty much all over the field.
Add his stellar production to the mix, and it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see that he’s the favorite to run away with the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year award, no pun intended (via SportsBettingDime).

McCaffrey sits atop the list, followed by Tyreek Hill, Jalen Hurts, Derrick Henry, A.J. Brown, CeeDee Lamb, Brock Purdy, Raheem Mostert, Patrick Mahomes, and Deebo Samuel.
Winning this award has always been impressive and a remarkable honor.
But doing it in the very same season that another player could make history by becoming the first-ever wide receiver to log at least 2,000 receiving yards in one season speaks volumes of the massive offensive impact McCaffrey has had on his team this season.
Through 14 games, McCaffrey has scored a whopping 20 total touchdowns (13 rushing, 7 receiving), and the Niners continue to steamroll past their opposition, both at home and on the road.
The Niners currently look like the best team in the league by a significant margin, and while it has obviously been a big team effort, McCaffrey definitely deserves most of the credit for their offensive efficiency and impact.
