De’Aaron Fox has never been one to mince words, and his latest social media activity is adding fuel to the fire surrounding his departure from the Sacramento Kings.
After it was reported that Fox unfollowed Domantas Sabonis on Instagram, fans quickly noticed and began questioning him about it. Instead of dodging the topic, Fox clapped back directly.
“Don’t care to see it. Why’s that your problem?”
In a since-deleted exchange, Fox made it clear that while he and Sabonis were great teammates, their relationship wasn’t as deep off the court as some believed.
“We were teammates,” Fox said. “It’s OK not to be close to everybody.”
Fox vs. Kings Fans: Tension After San Antonio Move
Fox’s move to the San Antonio Spurs has been a source of tension between him and Sacramento’s fanbase. While some supporters appreciated his years of loyalty, others felt blindsided by his departure.
The tension escalated when Fox openly embraced Spurs rookie Stephon Castle, making it clear he was looking forward to their future together.
“I want Steph here. I texted him that, too,” Fox said in an in-house Spurs interview.
This didn’t sit well with Kings fans, many of whom interpreted his excitement as a slight toward Sacramento.
Is There More to the Story?
While Fox and Sabonis were one of the NBA’s best duos, their connection may have been strictly professional rather than personal.
The real question now is: Was there deeper friction behind the scenes? Or is this just Fox moving on from his past?
Regardless, one thing is clear—Fox is done with Sacramento, both on and off the court.
