Kyle Kuzma’s transition to the Milwaukee Bucks has been nothing short of seamless. The 2020 NBA Champion was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Bucks and, just three games into his Milwaukee tenure, he’s already feeling right at home.
Despite Milwaukee’s 125-111 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, Kuzma put together a strong performance, finishing with 21 points, six rebounds, and shooting 6-for-9 from the field in 34 minutes.
After the game, he spoke about his early experience with the team and his enthusiasm for this new chapter.
“It’s been great, this organization has been extremely welcoming to me. The fanbase has, the players have. I kind of feel like I’ve already been here for a while. Just talking with everybody, already cool with everybody… I’m very excited to be here. Somewhere where I wanted to be.” (via @GiannisWorld_ on X)
A Fresh Start for Kuzma
Through three games with the Bucks, Kuzma is averaging 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists while shooting 42.0% from the field and 28.0% from beyond the arc.
Though the Bucks are struggling (3-7 in their last 10 games), Kuzma’s arrival could provide a much-needed spark as they push toward a deep playoff run.
Following his first home game in Milwaukee, Kuzma expressed his appreciation for the fan support:
“Wow what a first game in Milwaukee thanks for showing the kid some love I need it! 🙏🏽❤️”
Can Kuzma Help Revive the Bucks?
Milwaukee is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 28-24 record but has been struggling since the trade deadline. The departure of Adrian Griffin and the arrival of Doc Rivers as head coach have shaken things up, and Kuzma could play a key role in stabilizing the team.
Last season, the Bucks were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers—a disappointing finish for a team with championship aspirations. Now, with Kuzma in the mix, Milwaukee is hoping to turn things around and make another push for an NBA title.
Will Kuzma be the missing piece the Bucks need? Or will Milwaukee continue to struggle down the stretch?
One thing is for sure—he’s ready for the challenge.
