The Philadelphia 76ers suffered yet another frustrating loss on Tuesday night, falling 106-103 to the Toronto Raptors. While the team struggled as a whole, one glaring issue stood out: Tyrese Maxey’s shocking lack of involvement.
Averaging 28.0 points per game this season, Maxey has been the Sixers’ offensive engine—but against Toronto, he was virtually invisible in the first half, taking just two shots (both misses) and scoring zero points.
Maxey Admits: “I Just Wasn’t Aggressive”
Following the game, Maxey took full responsibility for his poor outing, making it clear that his passive approach hurt the team.
“I just wasn’t aggressive. I got kinda started late and slow,” Maxey admitted.
Instead of pointing fingers, he owned up to his struggles, vowing to bounce back quickly.
“I’ll be more aggressive. I’ll be fine. I’ll be better [on Wednesday], and then I’ll get some rest. I make no excuses. I should’ve been a lot more aggressive today and helped my teammates out.”
Unfortunately, Maxey’s late-game attempts couldn’t make up for lost time, as he finished with just 5 points on 1-7 shooting, including two points from the free-throw line.
Sixers’ Losing Streak Hits Four Games
With Maxey’s unexpected off-night, the Sixers failed to put away a struggling Raptors team, extending their losing streak to four games.
Now sitting at a crucial crossroads, the Sixers will head to Brooklyn for a back-to-back against the Nets, where Maxey promises a much more aggressive performance.
Can Maxey and the Sixers Bounce Back?
If Philadelphia wants to snap their skid, Maxey must rediscover his scoring touch immediately. Without Joel Embiid, the Sixers are already thin on offensive firepower, making it critical for Maxey to play like an All-Star.
📅 Next Game: 76ers vs. Nets (Wednesday Night)
Can Maxey redeem himself and get the Sixers back on track? The answer will determine whether Philly continues spiraling or finally stops the bleeding.
