Impressive Hula Bowl Meetings
Amari Kight, an offensive tackle from the University of Central Florida, recently discussed his engaging schedule at the Hula Bowl. During his time at the event, he met with several NFL organizations, including the Arizona Cardinals, Browns, Bears, and Chargers. Reflecting on his experiences, Kight stated, “I didn’t have any bad meetings, that’s for sure. I met with the Cardinals, Browns, Bears, Chargers, a handful of teams. I met with a few other teams as well. I enjoyed every encounter I had with those teams. I can’t complain.”
Versatility on the Offensive Line
Kight, who has showcased his skills at multiple positions throughout his college career, emphasized his adaptability on the offensive line. Primarily known for his role at tackle while at UCF and later at Alabama, he also explored the possibility of transitioning to guard. “When meeting with teams at the Hula Bowl, we did discuss the possibility of me playing guard. I wanted to talk about my versatility. Throughout my college career, I’ve played both tackle and both guard positions. That was something that stood out to scouts,” he explained.
Strategic Depth and Future Prospects
The Arizona Cardinals are known for valuing versatility on their offensive line, a trait that has drawn attention to Kight’s potential. With the team dealing with injuries—starter Jonah Williams is sidelined by a significant injury and backup Kelvin Beachum is mulling over retirement—the need for flexible and dynamic players is evident. Despite drafting Christian Jones last season, who made only limited appearances, the Cardinals appear to be exploring further options to reinforce their line. This strategy underscores the importance of adaptable talent in bolstering the team’s performance in the trenches.
