Although he missed most of the previous season due to a shoulder injury, his performance in prior seasons—highlighted by 63 tackles, a couple of interceptions, and 13 passes defended in a full 17-game season—underscores his ability to contribute significantly when healthy.

With available cap space remaining, the Panthers have an opportunity to add Samuel without overextending financially. His addition would provide a vital counterbalance to the injured Horn and help address the secondary’s shortcomings.
