At this point, it’s pretty clear: the Chicago White Sox are the worst team in baseball.
Worse than the Oakland Athletics, worse than the Washington Nationals, worse than the Miami Marlins, and even worse than the Colorado Rockies.
As of Tuesday afternoon, they are 2-14, an unfathomable record even for a rebuilding team.
They are supposed to be rebuilding and finding pieces for the future: all that fans have found is an unproductive lineup that can’t score runs to save their lives.
Former World Series-winning White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was part of the postgame show at NBC Sports Chicago, following the latest loss against the Kansas City Royals.
He was very harsh with the franchise, especially with the offense.
“Ozzie Guillén on the White Sox continued struggles. ‘It’s hard to hit .300. It’s harder to hit .090. When you hit .300, you’re playing. When you hit .090, you shouldn’t be playing. If I was a pitcher, I’d say, ‘Skip, can you skip me? I want to face the White Sox?’” Awful Announcing tweeted with some of Ozzie’s remarks.

He also revealed some rough numbers: six members of the White Sox lineup are hitting .200 or less.
That’s hard to stomach.
Additionally, they have been shutout six times already and are dead last in MLB with just 34 runs scored in 16 games, just over two per game.
The next-to-last squad has 48 runs.
It has been ugly, and even though some crucial players are injured (Luis Robert Jr. and Eloy Jimenez among them), it’s hard to justify an MLB team struggling so much.
Things can get ugly in the south side of Chicago this year.
