The Taylor Swift frenzy hit full steam ahead in the AFC championship game when the Kansas City Chiefs took down the Baltimore Ravens.
Not only was Swift in attendance, but she celebrated with and embraced Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce on the field after the game.
Critics of Swift and Kelce have groaned over their relationship being centerstage this season, but ESPN’s Pat McAfee said he doesn’t understand the hatred and added that her presence in the NFL is a good thing for the league and the sport.
“The most successful woman on earth right now happens to be dating the greatest tight end of all time. Why is everybody so mad about it? I’m sick of people being mad about it. What are we even talking about?” McAfee said. “… Taylor [Swift] is a part of the football world now. This is good news, not bad news.”

The criticism is likely that Swift is featured too prominently during game broadcasts and some may not believe her relationship with Kelce is legitimate.
But, as McAfee said, does any of that really matter in the grand scheme of things?
Kelce and the Chiefs played well enough to take down the Ravens and advance to their fourth Super Bowl in five seasons.
This time around, they just have another fan in Swift – who may or may not attend the game in Las Vegas in two weeks.
The extra attention may not sit well with some NFL fans, but the league surely has to love it considering the new audience that will certainly tune in to the Super Bowl if Swift shows up.
